Graphic Designer/Engraving Operator – JML Engraving

COMPANY OVERVIEW: 
 At JML Inc. we provide our customers with a large range of trophies, awards, glassware and much more – all of which we can engrave with personalized messages and images. We are a small team in a relatively small workshop looking for a new member to be an essential part of our team. 

POSITION SUMMARY: As the engraver you will be required to learn how to use at least two different engraving machines/software. One of which is for diamond-drag engraving and the other is for laser engraving. You will be engraving for various customers, sporting events and schools – these may be existing items in which you will have to match the previous year’s engraving as close as possible, or they may be new items which require your best judgement for the font, style, size, etc. Most items allow for one engraving attempt only as it is a permanent process, therefore a genuine interest in engraving is essential to maintain focus and accuracy on every job. This is very straight forward but requires an in-depth understanding of how an item should be engraved to be best complimented. As the engraving area is by the shop entrance, you will be expected to help serve customers for engraving and those picking up jobs.  

REQUIREMENTS (ESSENTIAL)  

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high quality work 
• Ability to quickly familiarize yourself with new software and machines  
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.  
• Be able to generate innovative/creative ideas to meet customer requirements  
• Base knowledge of different image file formats  
• Competent in Microsoft Word and Excel  
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.  
• Self-motivated and able to work independently and with a team.  
• Problem solving is a must. 
   
  Opportunity for Online Business Development: In addition to the primary responsibilities listed above, this position presents a unique opportunity for business development. We encourage the Laser Engraver Operator to explore and develop an online platform for the sale of laser-engraved products related to our products and beyond.
  This venture could include the creation of a dedicated online store, marketing strategies, product expansion, as well as the acquisition of other equipment to expand our offerings to provide increased value to our clients.
